Default Help on tightening the front strut mount for Audi A4 00 Avant!!!!

I just took out the old springs becaus I am lowering the car and I was able to remove the old strut mount bolt. How to I tighten it when I put it back as tight as I can and now the shocks are turning too.

Default You need to hold the shock with an allen wrench, while using either a special tool...

or a deep box end wrench..

Default i did it by releasing some spring pressure so that it was pressing on the top spring mount

then with an impact was able to get the nut nice and tight.

Default Yep, that's the one... I modified an impact socket to resemble that one..

for when I don't feel like zipping it on with my impact gun.. =)

Default Same here...modified a cheap Taiwan deep socket with a Dremel cutting wheel.

The real one is better because there is ample room for the allen wrench to fit inside, but a cut-out deep socket will work fine. The deeper the socket, the better the allen wrench will fit without having to cut-down the allen wrench a tad.
