Default Help!! Timing belt replacement

Replacing timing belt on a 97 2.8 12V. The Bentley manual doesn't show an additional pulley for the fan running off the ribbed (serpentine) belt and I don't know what size hex / torx to remove it. It's the bolt underneath and behind the pulley.

Default Are you talking about removing the fan pulley bracket?

It's a bitch, you need to line it up just so, to get your allens in the hole.. remove the large ones first, then get the one behind the pulley.

Default Got it...

I read one of your posts from a while back (did my TB in 6 hours...)and found that the fan clutch was reverse threaded. I used the old serpentine belt as a strap wrench and whacked my 10" crescent wrench with a hammer. Thanks!
