I have a 97 A4 Quattro with a 2.8L 12v. I am pretty sure the upper oil pan is leaking and I am looking to replace it. I have searched these forums and seen several posts saying that it is hard to remove but not really providing details. Is there a write up showing how to do this? Is it really necessary to remove the engine to replace the upper oil pan?
