Default Help w/ New Radio w/ Bose sys.

I've been searching but haven't found info that can help. I have a 1996 A4 Quattro w/ Bose "Delta" system. I want to replace the radio and keep existing amps/speakers. Does anyone know the speaker input for the Bose amps for this system. Can I wire the aftermarket speaker outputs or the RCA outputs into the factory harness? Will I be forced to buy one of those devices with adjustable line out? I was told that I could connect RCA's out of the aftermarket radio cut the other ends and connect them into the factory harness for input to the amps? Sorry so long! Please Help! Any recomendations/ advice will be greatly appreciated.

Default When I installed my head unit...

We had nothing but problems trying to integrate with Bose.

The Bose system (the amp in particular) is way funky. We've tried using RCAs out, impedance adaptors, bypassing the amp, etc. with no luck. The signal it seems is getting clipped, and the result is muddy and distorted base thanks in most part I suspect to the Bose amp, and not so much with the lower ohm output of the speakers (lower ohm resistance is good for subs). If you look at the wiring coming out of the head unit, you'll notice that all the speakers share a common ground. Once they terminate into the amp, the amp will then split out each ground to each speaker. It's quite a headache.

So... I'll most likely be scrapping my factory Bose speakers and getting all aftermarket. We have one last thing to try before I go this route though.

Good luck if you go through with this swap!

Cheers,

Randy

Default Re: When I installed my head unit...

I tried using the rca's of the aftermarket radio and wiring them into the factory harness of the Bose System. It sounded good except it creates a popping sound when turing on, switching between radio/cd and when switching between cd tracks. I heard you could use a ground loop insulator to fix this problem? Anyone have any ideas? I also read you could solder a wire from the ground on the rca jacks leaving the radio to the radio ground? Maybe I need a better ground for the radio? Can anyone Help Please!!!!
