Default Here we go; my door ajar warning is now always on. (archives no help)

I replaced the front speakers on my Audi, and now my car thinks my driver's door is open even though it is securely closed. I can tug on it and the car will register it as closed until I hit bump, then DING DING DING DING, darn A4 thinks the door is open. I've been working on this since I got home from work...still not working.

I've taken the door panel off and can't see anything funny going on in there and i've cleaned the door latch/microswitch with a good half can of WD40 per the archive posts. Car still insists the door is open.

Strange how it somehow got this way due to my new speakers. I forgot what it is like to own a car with more than 90K miles on it....

Default had the same problem. my central locking unit in the trunk got wet

and corroded. replaced that and my problems went away.

i would try to find someone near you and do a quick swap.
