My car has developed a hesitation/misfire under acceleration. This only seems to happen when accelerating below 2500 rpm when the car is warm. It happens in every gear. Car is stock 98 A4 2.8Q 5 speed with 47,000m. It has been happening through 3 different tanks of premium gas. Since this started, car has had new injectors fitted (not because of this issue), and new plugs fitted in an attempt to solve this problem with no impact. Dealer says there are no error codes and is unable to help. Any ideas? In a weird coincidence the trip mileage odo reset itself during one period of hesitation, but nothing else was affected.

Also check the plug cables. This was the source of my misfire but mine threw a CEL.
