My clutch is on its way out. I've paid for my gt28rs kit and now my clutch is almost done. I was going to pull the trigger on the South Bend but after reading the comparison post I started to have doubts. Would a clutch from Clutch Masters be better? I greatly appreciate your thoughts! TIA for your help!

I have never had a problem with it, and have run about 12,000 miles with it so far. It's very similiar to stock, feels stiffer though, and has a more 'on-off' engagment. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a clutch to replace their stock one.
- I have their stage 1.

Really Spec and Southbend are the two clutch companies that everyone uses. The problem is that its really hit or miss on how the clutch will hold up. Not all Southbend clutches are satisfactory and not all Spec clutches are satisfactory.

Hey, I'm running the SPEC LWFW, weighing in at 10.2 lbs and their Stage III clutch. I have been selling them for about two years and the only issues I have run into have been caused by installation mistakes. I have read about other issues and believe them but have sold about 60 units and only had three complaints. I reccommend the Stage III with the LWFW but not the stage II with the LWFW. Also I reccomend having SPEC surface your OEMFW if you are going to be using it with the new clutch.
SPEC Units are slightly larger than stock and can ride on the edge of the FW unless you machine it correctly. The URL below also has the installation requirements from SPEC that if followed will greatly reduce your chance of disappointment. Whatever you decide follow the directions.

http://www.tunerswarehouse.com/spec.htm</a

But you are right, never heard anything bad about the clutch after being installed. All of them are pre installation issues.
