hey i have a 99 1.8t wheres the IAT? is it in the MAF?

Don't have one in the 99.5 or above. IIRC each coil pack has what it need built in.

Default IAT provide a temperature reading of air being fed into the engine.

So if you consider that, and the fact that the turbo heats the air, and the intercooler cools the air, it kinda makes sense that the IAT would have to be between the IC and intake manifold. Once we understand this...finding it isn't quite so big of a chore.
