APR makes a solid engine mount as opposed to the factroy rubber one.

<i>APR's Snub Mount Upgrade replaces the front engine mount on the car. This mount enhances upshifting and downshifting, reduces driveline shock, and helps power transfer by taking up excess drivetrain slack. </i>

faster shifts, much less slack in the powertrain...car feels MUCH more solid

Default The APR mount is a snub mount, it goes on the front of the motor (more)
There are also two side mounts (one on each side) and I think there are two trans mounts (one on each side)

Basically they hold the motor in place, but also dampen the vibrations.
