Default With a slight modification to the H7 bulb collar, YES..

You can use a halogen in a D2S housing. Here's how the trimmed bulb collar looks, which allows it to seat "properly"...

BTW, I used this H7 bulb in an S4 xenon housing.

Good luck.

Default if you get stock s4 lights or xenon e-codes

you will not back able to use halogen light bulbs b/c they won't fit in the bulb holder.

if you want to continue using halogen bulbs until u save up for xenon's you could get regular halogen housings (e-code or dot). then you could get a H7 xenon conversion kit.

There are differences between xenon projectors and non-xenon projectors such as cut-off, beam pattern, light output, etc. However many people have xenons in halogen housings and have reported that the lighting is great.

I have had both xenons in halogen housings and in xenon housings. I'll admit that the lighting is much "crisper" in the xenon housings, but it definitely cost me more than just plan projectors. however the prime reason why i switched is that my old housings were kinda busted.

But if you do want to go the halogen route, I have a set of halogen housings that are in good condition for sale (not the busted one). Look in the classifieds for my item if you are interested.

Default I had no problems at all. Halogen bulbs in S4 housings..

...were much improved light output than my old 2-piece lights. Sure, when I added xenon bulbs/ballasts in place of the H7 bulb, it was brighter.....but by no means was the H7 setup dim. It's probable that your bulb wasn't seated optimally, especially if you didn't make any modification to the collar.

i did the mods to it and i also dremmeled out the metal piece in the projector itself. Maybe it's my bulbs. They're the original bulbs.
