Default high speed lane wander

My 97 2.8Qm wanders a little at high speed. I had the alignment corrected and this helped, but did not cure the problem. for example, when I pass a truck for example, the car gets pulled significantly. In general, can feel like a cross breeze.

I don't notice the problem at 60 mph, but do at 80. The car has new tie rods and control arms, so I don't think it is anything with the front wheels. rears possibly.

One item that is missing on the car is the plastic fairing underneath the engine. Could that be responsible?

The old owner says it's the tires, Bridgestone G009s. I have a hard time believing that.

Do you mean you get the problem when you pass a truck or it's like when you pass a truck?

Default Passing a truck will almost always result in a little wander, due to the draft from the truck...

they move a LOT of air, and it's going to move your car when you hit it. how long have you had it?

Tie rod ends and controle arms, the wander is mostly the tie rod ends

Default more often than just passing a truck

Thanks for the questions. The car doesn't have the solid, straight ahead feeling that I think it should.

I have only had the car about 2 months. The previous owner said the car used to be excellent in this regard and blames the tires, but they now have 9000 miles on them and I've tried them at 32, 35 and 40 psi. 4 wheel alignment helped (there was toe out and right rear was off), but still some wander. Truck passing exaggerates it, to the point it can feel a little dangerous. Make sense?

Default I'd think the alignment guy would have noticed loose tie rod ends..

does it feel like the front is wandering, or the rear?

Default That's what I can't tell

I can feel something lightly catch and pull the car on occassion. Not sure how to duplicate it.

How would I tell if it is rear or front?

What city are you in? High speeds = highway, which sometimes get grooved from the weight of traffic
