Default Hot weather=no power?

The last few days here in Boston have been pretty hot and humid (a welcome change, i must say, which comes with an unwelcomed side-effect: absolutely ZERO power. I have AMS's 1.0bar chip thats supposedly designed for tiptronics (i have had lots of probs with gear hunting though). On a hot day there is absolutley no acceleration, in fact it feels far worse than stock, but i dont think its pinging or anything. Under WOT it takes about oh, 12 seconds to get to 40. I am actually scared to pull out into traffic because i cant get going fast enough. I always use Mobil 93 octane. The funny thing is at night when its cool out again it pulls like normal. Go figure. I had an APR chip all last summer with none of these probs. Any thoughts?

Tell me about it The guys at AMS are not very friendly either. I changed because I was having trouble with gear hunting with my APR chip also, and a friend told me to check out AMS, said that they had a "special" chip for tip, well, i must say, that chip sure is "special." I still have the APR module, maybe I'll just get that put back on and and get rid of the AMS junk. I actually used to have no trouble with my APR chip but then my car went in to have the trottle body cleaned (I had an erratic idle) and they had to re-calibrate the DBW throttle and ever since then i get the gear hunting crap. As im typing this i just realised that maybe I should put the APR chip back in and get the throttle body adaptation option too. Any thoughts?

Yeah, I would expect a slight loss in the hot weather, but not what I'm experiencing. I'm not talking like "slighty less" I mean NOTHING. I'm not exagerating when I say that. Under WOT (or any throttle position, for that mattter) the car doesn't move. In fact, I took my brother out to show him and he didn't believe it was full throttle. BTW, what suburb are you? I'm in Brookline.

Default gear hunting? try a giac tipchip. thats designed specifically for tip cars.

im gonna get one asap. mmm...do you have a vag? do a tba with a vag. id skip on the TBA option. you could also supposedly do a tba with the key in the on position for 3 minutes as well.

I guess its possible that theres something else wrong with the car, but i highly doubt it. I just had it in for service about 3 weeks ago and everything was fine. Plus, the car drives perfectly normal in cool weather, its when it gets really hot that it doesn't move.
