I have all season tires right now (225/55 zr17 yokohama avid T4), and was wondering if you guys had any problems on the snow & ice roads, it will be my first winter on 17" rims.

If you expect a lot of snow, go out for steel rims and winter tires...well worth it

Default Id definetly switch to snows. The extra snow traction is worth it.

If you have a resonably narrow rim you shouldn't have anything to worry about with good snows.

Default where are you? it depends on the weather.

true snow tires are great for packed snow and ice. mud+snow tires are good for loose snow and slush. all seasons are a comprimise. the latter being much better on dry roads.
