rca level input to the amp.
Some amps also support a higher level input by flipping a switch, so you can just attach rca plugs right to the speaker wires. My old PPI amp supported this.
You might also be able to use the line out on the symphony

There are some really good write ups and photos floating around, particularly in the audio forum.
The basics:
- You need to run 8 or preferably 4 awg wire from your battery to the amp for power. Ensure you put a fuse on that line within 18 inches of the battery
- You'll need to run 2 pairs of rca cables from the h/u to the amp. You can splice in your own female RCA's or buy an adapter to plug into the line out section of your h/u.
- Remote amp on/off cable from h/u to amp or you can pick it up from the stock left rear speaker connector
- A short cable the same size as the power cable for a good earth
- 12 or 14 AWG speaker cable from the amp to each speaker location.
Speakers:
- Your B5 has 4" splits in the front doors. These are powered by the h/u;s internal amplifier. You can fit 5.25" splits by building an MDF adapter
- Your rear shelf speakers are 6.5" coaxials but use a square mount. These are fed a line level signal to the left speaker that has a small amp attached to it that drives both rear speakers. You can replace the stock speakers with higher quality 6.5" coaxials or splits by building your own mdf adapter.
Don't use a speaker level to line level converter. It's an unnecessary cost and delivers poor sound quality. There is little point in spending all that money on a good amp and quality speakers and then destroy the source signal with a llc. Our h/u's have line level outs, you just need to add female rca's.
Good luck

I've also done this for a few members on here.

It works really well and everything gets tucked away nice and neat.

Thanks.. that was a great wirte-up.
That is what I needed to know.
When conntecting the four RCAs to the line-outs on the HU. Do I buy a 4 channel line out converter to do that with?
Also..
The next step is to add two subs.
How do you add those two channels?
Off the two rears channel RCAs with a Y cable?
thanks for all the help so far. all the replys have been great.
