i think at quattro`s you have to remove, or at least move the fuel tank a little to get access to it. Fuel filter should have a "strap on" system, plus you need 2 extra clams to hold tight the fuel lines to the filter.

Good tech article, all but the last part where it says try blowing thru the filter new dry filter and blowing thru the wet old filter to compare them. Someone had to be drunk or high on gas fumes when they wrote that part. lol

Bring it to a shop and save yourself a lot of aggrivation!!! LOL

If you DO take this on...be prepared for a lot of swearing...have at least a 6 pack on hand...if you quit smoking you may want to give yourself a pass for this job and go buy a pack of Marb Lights....

Beyond dropping the gas tank you will also need a special 8mm 12pt bit that is available at specialty tool outlets or a snap-on truck...I got lucky and got mine there as they used to come by the office once in a while...

Once the 12pt bolt is loose and you can get the filter out of the strap it is a piece of cake...

Oh and be VERY CAREFUL with the fuel lines. When I did mine, i snapped the fuel line going into the filter while i was uncrewing the banjo bolt and ended up having to replace the line. It goes from the fuel pump to the filter. It's not that hard to replace but not necessary if precautions are taken. Ha and try not to breathe in too many fumes. I was sick for hours once.
