Default nope not saying that at all....

your catalytic coverters are there to keep as much of the harmful gases out of the atmosphere.. if you are running without cats you are:
a) have a car that is only used in track events
b) have no consideration for the air we breathe
c) only look to make hp for your car
d) look to fail any emissions test you must take

but besides running rich.. as much as you think your engine loves the additional fuel, you may be doing more harm than good, since the fuel mixture is thrown off, the spark that is necessary to burn the fuel can basically be a slightly be at a higher temperature and ruin internal stuff like:
a) piston rings
b) valves
c) gaskets

Default Thats not good

Pictureboy took out his Cat for a while, and with his G2 exhaust, it sounded like crap (at least i thought so-- Sorry Brett..) and it was really loud, not to mention illegal.

Default now, why do you want a BOV?

the system can work with the 1.8T if you are willing to sacrifice some things (see BOOSTD's posts) however, you are sacrificing the life of the Cats and potentially harming your car for some crappy noise....is it worth it?

just to be clear: you can do whatever you want to your car, paint it **** brown, put type r stickers all over it, or put in a BOV...its your car, do what YOU want to it...not trying to offend ANYONE here at all..just letting you know, the sound of the BOV (which would be the only reason to get one, since it does not work any more efficiently than a BPV) is not worth the a) cost of the BOV [$400+ compared to a $30 710n], and b) the risk of the damge done IMHO

but, again, your car, your money, your mods, your happiness...do what you want

Default nah... probably just not fully explained....

such as LLTek's site. Any company that knows the adverse affects of running one product over the other is immediately aware, but yet they still offer the product, cause basically "There is a sucker born every minute" it would not be in their best interest to state that a BOV may harm the emission equipment on your vehice. That is why most companies put disclaimers stating that stuff they sell in terms of performance are for off-road use only. This is because equipment is not tested or has not passed DOT or EPA standards

Default Re: I want to be a ricer thats all, sheesh:)

You're dumping positive boost pressure that would otherwise stay in the system and keep the turbo spooled for more power when your gear shift is complete...so why release positive boost out of the system for a gee-whiz noise?

Default i totally realize that,

And one of those "kits" are only 260 btw.. It would just be interesting to me if i or someone actually got one to work properly--So that it wont run rich. Im sure that there is away, most likely through custom software. We'll see..

Default lmao...

90% of the 1.8t forum over there is "I just installed my bov" and "bov group buy".

from which I conclude:

"They" dont know jack.

The knowledgeable posts are few and far between.

Yhe only reason I read that forum is to see the Upsolute reps make idiots of themselves. Quite humorous most of the time.
