I've been married for years. Fortunately that's one idea that worked out the first time.

Default e30 325e...

Like most on here, from lots of "trial and error." Literally destroying everything I took apart from when I was a kid. Watching/Helping my dad(engineer) work on his cars.
I drove an '87 BMW 325e for 5 years. Slow but reliable and fun to work on. I learned a lot more about it through use of Roadfly.org and lots of searching. Also, used Bentley and Haynes manuals.
If all else failed, I asked my dad. Which I hate to do because I like trying to figure things out on my own. However, it's not always worth the "error."

Currently I use Audiworld. I love this forum. My car 01.5TQM w/47k has given me no problems thus far(did replace rear pads & rotors last week). But that doesn't keep me from being prepared. I enjoy the DIY projects too.

definitely my Dad for the general stuff. I've learned a lot from the local AWers and am now a DIYer.

...from having a beater POS Subaru when i was in college. it was consistently needing work and i didn't have the $$ to get it done.
