How do I find out what my engine code is?

just remove the black plastic engine cover
should be a sticker on the valve cover, also on the cyl head on the drivers side closer to the front of the car a piece on metal extends outward and has the engine code stamped on it... hard to explain easy to see
btw you should have an aeb engine unless it was swapped

As you are staring at the engine from the front looking towards the windshield...
There is a tab on the cylinder head. It's on the front of the head near the cam position sensor. If you look straight down at that tab from above, the letters for the engine code should be etched in. If you've got a 98.5, it has to be an AEB engine.
