How do I re-attach the (self-dimming) rear view mirror to the windshield, (properly).

assuming its the same as every other rear view mirror out there...

get the rear view mirror adhesive kit, clean the sufrace properly and glue the metal anchor back on.

make sure to let it dry for the correct amount of time

you need to get special adhesive. Go to autoparts store in your area

or you could go to the dealer and pay far more for the same stuff imported from germany

That's what I figured...

But there wasn't any adhesive to begin with. Just some sort of magnetic strip.

Make sure its the two part epoxy kit and not some cheap single tube of glue

that stuff doesn't work for anything.
