I have changed brake pads many times, but never rotors, and I think the time has come. I know I have to remove the calipers, but how do the rotors come off? Do they just pull off, or do you have to loosen that large nut in the center of the hub?
Do I need any special tools to do the job? Are the rear rotors handled differently?
Thanks for your help.

The rotors aren't held on by anything, other than the wheel lugs (and any rust that has formed). After you remove the caliper carrier, use a dead blow or rubber mallet and smack the back of the rotor, 'til it pops off (watch your toes). Also, check out the FAQ section...there's an article there about replacing the front rotors. Email me if you have any other questions...I've done it several times.
