How do stock s4 shocks compare with A4 1.8t's? can one use s4 shocks and lowering a4 springs on a4?
yesterday we had a discussion that stock a4 shocks could not take the abuse of the eibach/audi lowering springs and would give. many suggested that new shocks would be needed. but, some s4 owners replied (and i searched the forums) and said that they use eibach lowering springs with no problem with their stock s4 shocks. therefore, can one put s4 shocks on 1.8t and combo them with eibach springs made for 1.8t? i know the s4 springs are no good because they're made for heavier car.
thanks in advance.

well, since the S4 has more engine weight, I'd imagine that the springs are
stiffer. With a lighter car, this will result in less spring compression, resulting in a much stiffer ride. This is ok if you're always on smooth pavement. Imagine, though, taking an interstate cloverleaf with ripples in the pavement, and haveing the car try to skip rather than move the wheels up and down with the road.
I really don't know what it will do...be careful, and have fun!
