Default Re: fix the problem?

good one...so if I fix the problem it will automatically go away, no resetting or clearing codes or anything of the like?

Default No, clearing the codes is part of fixing the problem.

Get out your VAG-COM and your bently, and fix the problem then clear the codes.

Don't have em? Buy em.

It isn't an Accord, you can't fix it with duct tape.

Read the codes, fix the problem. Simple.

Default VAG-com is your friend...

Find out what codes are being thrown so you don't toast the motor. You can clear the codes by disconnecting the battery for a couple of minutes. This just puts the blinders on for you though. If the car is in "limp" mode you have a problem somewhere and it will "limp" again.

Default you can sometimes clear the codes, but if it's a serious enough problem..

they will come RIGHT back the second you start the car.
