How do you program the keyless entry for 97 model. I found how to reprogram but that doesn't work

you need a vagcom or the dealer to "activate" the keyless entry
Just to let you know if you have a '97 or newer A4, you can program the car for the remote locking. It is more complicated than just buying the remotes though. If your car did not come with keyless, then you need to go to the dealer (or find someone with a vagcom) and have them "activate" the keyless module in the car. Once this is activated, then you can program those remotes to work on your car. I have done this before with the help of my dealer.
