How do you remove the cover for the bracket that holds the bottom and the top
of the front seats together.Is looks like they just pull straight off, but I think I'm going to break them if I pull any harder.

Nevermind I figured it out. There are little plastic pins you need to remove
so that the tabs will compress enough to let you pull them out. Stupid design. You end up marring the plastic when you pull them out.
