How do you remove the A pillar cover on the driver's side?

(Couldn't resist that response, sorry). Basically, just pull hard after you get your fingers under the top of it. It's held in with metal clips that snap into holes in the A-pillar. I haven't done it in a long time, but I remember there's one clip down low that's tricky on re-install. (Needs to be put behind the clip, but the trim naturally wants to go in front of it. The FAQ doesn't seem to mention this. I don't remember the procedure well enough to describe it now). If any of the metal clips stay in the A-pillar instead of remaining in their slots in the trim, you will have to remove them with pliers and put them back into the trim.
