Default How does low and high end compare for GT2860RS 0.64 vs GT2860R?

Which one would spool faster? Which one more efficient in the high-end?

Default You can get the RS in either big or small A/R.

The smaller A/R RS will spool faster, and have less "lag". The bigger A/R will be more efficient in it's powerband, which will be shifted slightly higher.

I'd go with the bigger A/R, and deal with the lag down low. The extra kick in the pants is worth it.

Default not sure the bigger A/R is worth it

considering it wont make any/much more peak power and the A4 doesn't really rev that high. Pretty sure my APR is the smaller A/R

Default The smaller A/R means that your engine is working harder to make its power.

There is definitely something to be said about turbo efficiency.

Don't get me wrong, smaller A/R's are good for earlier peak torque, and have fairly good midrange response, but they aren't the best choice when you are trying to make the most efficient power to the wheels.

APR chose a smaller A/R becuase it makes smooth factory-like power, verses the .86 which you can really feel the jolt when it hits full spool and starts making power.

Default But if the larger a/r is too big you really wont be taking advantage of it.

I would only go with the larger A/R if the smaller A/R made peak hp lower in the rpms then you really want.

Default well we need some info on what RPM the turbo can make at least 20 psi

the small A/R version hits 22 psi before 3500 in 3rd gear and closer to 3000 in 5th. How much later is acceptable for a turbo of this size? If you want to wait until say 4500 RPM, why not just get a bigger turbo and run lower boost?
