How does some one go about installing a used chip?
I have a Wett socketed chip for sale. Since the vendor (Wetterauer) originally soldered this chip in to my ECU and the new vendor (AWE) unsoldered it and installed the new GIAC chip, how does someone that wants the Wett chip get it installed? Anyone have any experience with this? And please, no knocks on the Wett chip, it worked great for me until I started running this crappy California gas.

I did the same thing as you, had AWE swap out a Wett K04 chip for a GIAC 30K4. AWE returned the
entire Wett socket and chip in very good shape. I sold it to a guy who went to a local tuner to get it soldered in. No problems at all. Just look around for someone in your area to do this. Failing that, I'm sure you could send the socket and ECU to Wett and have them do it.

$295 it is the latest version, and I have either the .8 or the 1.0 bar chip
After moving to Cali, the 1.0 bar chip was casusing some pinging. Wett sent me the .8 bar chip which fixed the pinging issue. Ultimately, I chose to go with the K04 kit from AWE so now I have both chips for sale. Once I sell one of the chips, I will be returning the extra chip to Wett.
