Default Passenger side next to the battery there are 2 metal hoses. IIRC it is the smaller dia. one.

On the right when you are looking at it from the pass. side.

https://www.audiworld.com/tech/misc34.shtml</a

Default What he said!

You need a good independent shop that can fill thru the high side.

FYI the 96 A4's have weak evaporator cores. They start to leak.

Very common problem so run a leak test.

$$$$ to fix.

I can locate those hoses. But they do not have a valve to which i can connect the recharge kit. The picture of the S4 in that link seems to have a valve for that purpose. I dont see any similar caps/valves on the 2 hoses. I could only find the high pressure valve on the evaporator next to the radiator. Again mine is a 96 A4 2.8L. Can anybody help further.
