How good is the tornado in the intake system.

Eh it doesnt do too much with the A4 2.8 and I'd expect the same from the 1.8T
Here is why...
The 2.8 has an incredibly LONG intake tract. The 12v variant has a variable volume intake manifold, I'm not sure about the 30v version. Either way the vortex generator isnt close enough to the intake valves.
The 1.8T, lol its turbocharged, dont expect ****. You're running the air through a turbine.
Ok all that said and done, it might help the air along a little bit in the intake, but that wont give too much on either of these engines.
You'll get a lot more from a Phenolic gasket on the intake manifold, which will help cool the intake temperature. The 2.8 has a real problem with this, The 12v variant literally heats up its intake manifold like its a heat sink on top of the engine. NOT GOOD. The air going through it is warmed up before the engine breathes it in. Proper thermal isolation of this manifold is an excellent idea, I'm also working on that too.
I have one of the tornado things, Its not really worth the money. You might see 1mpg more, but thats all, not a major difference. For the same $$$ you can make a better intake or a new thicker phenolic gasket for your intake manifold.
