I am pretty mechanically inclined, I did all the work on my old CRX, but Audi's are a whole different ball game. No manual came with my car, and I plan on picking one up on monday, but in the mean time, thought u guys might give me your opinions. TIA

It's a pain in the *** to get the filter out but the drain plug is conveniently up front.
With the filter located directly in the center of the engine, it's tough to get your arm around to twist it off. Also, it will make a mess and spill oil all over the nearby parts.
What I did was to remove the coolant reservoir screws and pushed it aside while I reached with my oil filter wrench to get it loose.
As for the Timing Belt, there is an excellent FAQ in the Tech Section. Hell, I'm gonna give it a shot myself. I can't afford $600 to get it done and I really think I can do just as good a job even if it will take twice as long.
