I waited......
I was originaly going to wait untill i got 5,000 miles before chipping but after 1,300 miles i simply could not resist. i went to AMS in So Cal looking for some clear corners and they took me for a spin in a Stage 2 car which made me drive out with the same chip. but i had mine transformed at 1,300 miles.
JC M.

Long chip story...
My car came off the lot with a 1.0 bar chip in it and 23 miles on it... I was unhappy with the chip and the dealer (Schaumburg Tuning) had its "tuning consultant" look at the car (Jones)... the car wasn't running as well as I thought it should be, and I proposed that we go back to a stock ECU.
With the stock ECU, the car was slower but ran more smoothly... then I decided I wanted more performance than just a chip or turbo would give me and called up a couple tuners... a tuner mapped out a plan for increased displacement on a legal pad with Win Ben Stein's Money playing in the background... the rest is kinda history.
Stay away from those Schaumburg chips.
Cameron

Re: MTM- 200 miles
What is your impression of the chip...do you have any ping or detonation problems??? How much did you pay for your chip. I assume it's a 1 bar program...or is it a more conservative .8 bar program??? Ohh and what grade pump fuel are you using.
I have a Neuspeed chip but have been interested in trying the MTM chip for the obvious reasons...Meyer's connection to Audi ect. ect.

Re: My first Audi. Silly story, but maybe interesting. (long)
Well folks, I just purchased my first Audi last week and couldn't be more satisified.
I do have a couple of questions regarding chip tuning:
1-What, if any, is the consensus on the brand of chip one should have installed.
2-Should the car be "broken in" before a chip is added.
Thanks in advance!
Jack
