Hey my car is still in the shop from hitting a divider on the street like 2 weeks ago. I dont trust Pep Boys, the shop that my car is at. It went from pan replacement to engine mount replacement to timing belt replacement and now they say i might have bent some valves and so the cost is coming down to like 2300. I think it would have been cheaper to just replace the whole engine. I was just wondering how much it would cost to do that i'm sure its pretty close to what is being paid now. The insurance company only gave me like $2800 for engine and body work. I havent even gotten to the body work and i'm down like $2300. Thanx for the help.

Then take it to a place you trust. Like a body shop then they can send out your car for the mechanical work.

People have posted they are about 2k-4k for a used 1.8T
