I see. Most of my tires are 51PSI max. But I kept them 38 to 40 range.

Default From my understanding,a car that understeers by default - to have higher front tire pressure will

reduce understeer...the B5 A4 understeers a lot...

Default Other way around. Lower pressure = softer sidewall, and more grip...

higher pressure = stiffer sidewall and less grip, therefore if your rears are higher, you essentially stiffen up the rear.

The tire pressure actually contributes to the overall spring rate of the chassis, it effects the handling more than most people realize.

Lower pressure = softer sidewall, and more grip? Can't explain why but I thought the opposite.

Default I wouldn't do that

Tires heat up and pressure increases when driven. You certainly don't want to be running around at the max pressure rating for your tires. That being siad, 44 seems low, 51 does seem a more reasonable max and corresponds to what I've seen. What tires are they?
