Default my dealership asked like 1200 for t belt, tensoniers, rollers,..

water pump and thermostat. on a 2.8 they do all that stuff in one go because you have to take off hte t belt ot get at the water pump adn thermostat. on a 1.8t a mechanic told me it is only necesary to replace the t belt, tensioners etc because the pump and thermostat are easy to get to and can be changed at any time if need be. i foudn an independent mechaicn who did t belt, power steering belt, two serpentine belts, oil change, adn diagnostics for 500 bucks. look for an good vw/audi mechanic you can trust if you need work done out of warranty.
