At about 4000 miles my low oil level warning came on (not low oil pressure!). I added a quart and took the car ('01 2.8QM) to the dealer at 5k for the service. Now with 9000 miles the oil is low again. So, it's looking like a quart every 4k miles. That's probably within the manufacturer's specs (it is on BMWs), but is it typical of what you gys and gls are seeing?

FWIW, the car is flat stock.

Yes, within spec. I think I'm burning a quart every 3k miles.

i actually was about 1 quart per 1000 miles
