How much to Replace Clutch on a 98 30v Quattro 5sp? I think mine is at the end of the line... thanks

Just spent $1,300 for 30v fwd clutch at the dealer; Quattro will be more.

I'm in the exact same boat (98 30v w/ quattro) and my clutch is starting to go. Let us know how much they want for it!

ouch. find an inpendent shop near you for work like that. you could've spent a lot less.

dealer quoted me 2k on an 00 1.8tq. i did it for 950

Unfortunately, other local Audi/VW shops were w/i $100 of what the dealer charged..

My car was purchased used, however, the clutch was gone by 50k miles. I must say that I'm still not enamored w/ the clutch engagement even after replacement (high engagement), but such is the nature of Audi clutch release design (or so I'm told).

damn. at some point, taking a mechanics class at your local community college would pay off. hmm...

Having done a few restorations...it just gets to the point where you'd rather not deal w/ it ;-)

agreed. I've gotten in the middle of doing some maintenance work or a mod and felt the same way.
