Default How much slop is normal in a shifter? (Nues/Strat specifically)

Just had the Stratmosphere short shifter installed by the local dealership (Yeah it costs more, but politically worth it IMO). Seems sloppier than the Neuspeed shifter it replaced, although it really snaps into gear.

The tech said the slop is normal linkage play, but I wonder.

I installed the Strat. myself (oh yeah, I be cool) and noticed that the linkage has a lot of slop. I put the zip-tie on the Strat. and my shifter does have slop but it's all the linkage.

I guess it's hard to really compare without measurments of how much play there is.
