Default Best to just rent a truck and get it done in one trip without dirtying your trunk... :)

You'll end up spending lots of time loading/unloading your trunk. Much easier to deal with from a truck bed. In addition, you'll need something that'll withstand/distribute the weight of the blocks -- like a mdf sheet or something. IIRC, those concrete paver blocks weigh in @ ~10-15lbs for a square foot.

Default Update

I ended up getting the 16" X 8" patio blocks. Home Depot's sticker says they are 20lbs each. Although they don't feel quite that heavy. Maybe 15lbs or so...

I figure I need 40 blocks, plus 4 bags of base (50lbs each bag).

Today I brought home 25 blocks in the trunk of the car. Car did not feel strained at all. HD is only a 3 miles away from my condo, and the roads here are in decent shape. Wednesday I'll get the other 15 blocks and the bags of sand.

I have the Costco rubber trunk mat so I was able to spread them out in 6 piles of 4 blocks each. And my trunk stayed clean. That rubber trunk mat is worth its weight in gold!

THanks for all the help!

PS I also picked up my tuxedo from Mens Wearhouse while I was out, so I didn't want to put any blocks in the backseat.

Default Costco has rubber mat for our trunks!?!?

Form fitted? Or are you referring to those squares for garage floors?

Default I've had this mat for over 4 years

It's a generic trunk mat. Thick rectangular black rubber with a 1" lip all around. Cost about $20. MUCH cheaper than buying the Audi floor mat. And it fits almost perfectly.

I guess I'll have to keep an eye out in case they bring those back.
