how much would it normally cost to upgrade to the 3-spoke steering wheel?

Default how much would it normally cost to upgrade to the 3-spoke steering wheel?
do I have to get a new airbag?

yup...like get the wheel out of a junkyard and install it myself..I'm talking $(new wheel + install)

Default I heard the new airbag unit ran a little over $1100
I would love to get rid of mine too...but it just seems too costly...

not like anyone wants to trade DOWN :P

they're completely different wheels... the airbag unit is shaped different.

Airbag sport steering wheel, retrofitting

For vehicles m.y. 1995 that were equipped with an airbag as standard edquipment, an Audi dealer can retrofit the vehicle with an airbag sport steering wheel.

The following components are required: airbag sport steering wheel, airbag unit and applicable label for the vehicle (e.g. S4

So ... perhaps all would be available in a wrecking yard?

Default Bentley also show the "airbag unit" is the center section of the three spoke wheel so if the bag was
not deployed I'd say .. yep you bet you can.
