I am, perhaps, overreacting to the idea that people use them as a status symbol, rather than when actually needed.
I don't think that the A4's fog lights affect oncoming driver's vision in any way. So there isn't any safety reason not to use them.
Still, I will continue to leave them off except as noted.

It stupid to have them on other wise and makes you look like a fool. It bothers me to see people driving around with their fog lights on. I used to think it was cool and them I realized its not. Just for the inexperienced driver..
Also its cool to see if the rear fog light on. There is no better way to prove your itelligence then to ride around with your rear fog light on. I saw a guy Saturday night in his convertable mercedes doing just that. I don't know why, but this stuff has been bothering me lately..
You should not drive around with your fogs on unless you need them..
