Default If it starts slipping...(more)

The OEM clutch is made to slip, but you'll know that your clutch is on it's way out when you're in 5th gear, and you step on the gas, and the rev go up really fast but the car doesn't move (it feels like you're reving in neutral). Over time it will start to do the same thing in 4th and 3rd gear also.

Default 5th gear, go wide open throttle

and if the RPMs rise too fast and you are not aceelerating, then your clutch is slipping.

Default what if it happens in 1st? ...

I mean, when you dump the clutch at 4K rpm, and instead of accelerating, the revs jump to 6-6.5K rpm.

That made for a bad 1/4 mile run, BTW. ;-)

Default Simple test

Pull the parking brake, put the car in 2nd gear (others say 4th, if you're unsure try both) and slowly release the clutch.

- Revs go down, engine eventually dies: Everything's fine.
- Revs stay up, engine keeps running after you release clutch: You need a new clutch.
- Car starts moving: Time for new brakes.

Default there is less room for error the way I said

and there is more load in 5th. I never had the stock clutch hold for a 4k dump even when it was good. Then again I was never and am still no good at launching.

Default neither am I...

That's why I was wondering if I just f'd up the launch or if my clutch is on its way out. When I go WOT in 5th, there's definitely no slipping.

Default does it seem to slip on a hard 1st to 2nd shift?

you probably just glaszed the clutch on a hard launch.
