How to tell Halogen/Xenon Ecodes apart?

I have got a set of Ecodes that is from Valeo A4 Ecodes and I am not sure if they are for Halogen or for Xenon. Is there anyway I could check in the housing/appearance to find out what I've got?

If the underside of the housing has a rectangular box to mount the ballast in...

then you can use it for xenons...

Both have the "box", one is just covered with plastic..

halogen ecodes have NO opening on the bottom to bolt in a ballast, xenon ecodes have an opening.

EITHER can be used for aftermarket HIDs, but only the xenon ecodes can be used properly with factory HIDs.
