The thing with the 40 in 5th was to show you how much of a lag the GT25 really has. Since you make full boost(20) at 3500 rpm's and I make full boost(20) at 2200 rpm's, that is why your car feels like it is lugging at 40 mph in 5th gear and mine does not.

what everyone else gets, as you pointed out in the past, it designed to turn on a full 1 bar at the flick of the throttle. Thats far from a linear setup, and not what most would want in a day to day chip.

making up stories. Don't base my final arrangements on your negotiations. All you do is look foolish. And I know for a fact you were pissed that you could not get the kit for free.

Yeah kinda brutal ain't it?!
Straight answer...stage III kit have alot of Lag?
NO! very drivable.
Between either of the kits or options to mod the 1.8T for horsepower and torque, it really comes down to how are you going to use it.
Chip K03: Great for street, Auto-X, even the Track
safe on the clutch, good Dollar to Performance gains.
K04: Great for street, better for Auto-X (more power) great for the track (K04 should handle it better than K03) safe on the clutch.
Stage III: Great for the street (very drivable) not as good for auto-X (unless new DBW software can onset boost below 2500rpm aprox.) Excellent for the track (even with software where state of tune is now!) you'llbe chasing anyone you like down the straights!! 8-)
Build quality??? Stage III is quite impressive.
(get what you pay for)
K04: GIAC & PES Tuning are in the works of what might be the "premier" K04 kit!? but if they don't get what they are after "we will trash the kit" and it will never hit the market.
Hope this helps!!

it came down to have to tow the car or having it shipped to APR. I drive my car every day as you can see since I did put 45K on the car in the first year. It had nothing to do with what I was going to pay for the kit.
