Default So lets do a test shoe. We will drive the cars at 40 mph in 5th gear and go wot

to see how much lag the stage 3 car really has.

Default I don't think stage 3 is a put in and take out thing, like a chip. Once its in, it should stay, way

to much work to reverse it all once it is done. Heading home. gnight. feel free to email anytime with questions.

Default And your point is?

I mentioned that there was more lag so what exactly is your point? Do i finding it annoying that my chipped KO3 pulled more in 5th at 40mph? No considering how much more enjoyable and fun the car is to drive around town or the canyons. 80% of my driving is around town, and the lag is not frustrating. If the stage 3 kit sucked then i would say so, I have absolutely no reason to kiss up to APR. My opinion is truthful and honest.

Default here you go...

First of all, do you have AIM? If so, please IM me [Pr0phet Ali] or just give me your
screen name.

-sorry no but you can e-mail me. sshu58@yahoo.com

Now some stage 3 questions. Is your car just as street drivable as a k04 car? Can you

-Yes very streetable, I drive a lot on the streets. I have not driven a KO4 but i did have a chipped KO3.

still go in for service at your dealer? And would you recommend me to go stage 3 or 3+?

-I was a bit nervous but they serviced it no problem. You are taking a higher risk though and most likely if something goes wrong they will turn thier back. I heard people are getting trouble for thier chipped cars. It's a worthwhile risk IMO.

See, I am leasing my car. And so far, I plan on turning my car back in to the dealer
after my lease, in 4 years. Is stage 3 still cool for me?

-Yeah its no easy instal. Cost me $550 for the install and I imagine another $550 to redo it. They can give you some trouble, I've had no first hand experience though. Go for the chip first. This should keep you happy. Another thing to keep in mind is that there are a few kits in the works now which are planned to be cheaper than the S3.

Default The problem is the sensor's physical range limit.

It's a 3-bar sending unit, so you are boost limited. After 1.5 bar psi, the sendor makes the same 5 volts to the ECU as when it was AT 1.5 bar. No amount of software can correct the physical limitation of that particular sensor. A new one needs to be found or fabriated.

Default and what enthusiast (which are the only ones that would DO a turbo swap...)

drives like that? and wouldn't downshift if the need arose? You can design any scenario that looks to bias against a setup, especially the k03, or ANY turbo. I noticed that you mention the PES kit coming out. What will your lag position be on that I wonder.

Default who the **** runs around in 5th gear at 40 MPH anyway, mike....

that's like saying "let's drive it into a wall to see whose airbags deploy faster..." In REAL WORLD driving where applications actually mean something your "test" is pretty lame.
