Default How in the world do you remove the lower radiator hose?

"Do this for the top and bottom hoses. Now, just pull firmly (read: HARD) to get the hoses off."
Timing Belt/Tensioner FAQ Andy TN

Andy should add a detail that the hose "snaps/clicks" off. It is not obvious for someone doing this the first time, as Audi outdid itself again this time, and instead of using a regular slide on rubber hose it has some sort of contraptions here.

Without prior knowledge you don't know if you should twist, pull or wiggly. Turns out you just pull straight out(nothing else will help) using more force that anyone should use in the engine bay.

Now the question is, how do you separate the lower hose? There is even no way to grab it as it is a tight space, let alone grab it comfortable to apply as much force as the upper hose.

Is there a trick to this?

Default pull and wiggle. you have to use a lot of force

kneel in front of the car and reach underneath. that is how I did it at least.

Well, there is nothing else keeping the hose in place then...

Default Why not leave it on and undo it on the engine side?

I find its easier to assemble(and disassemble) that way. Those plastic connections are like a grenade waiting to go off , when disconnecting them after being undisturbed for multiple years.

Default The top one came off, with force, but I can't reach the bottom one! It's a joke...

How do I unplug that sensor by the lower hose if I can barely reach it with any of my fingers? From which do you go in? Top? Bottom?

Andy's write up doesn't mention anything about metal aluminum hoses on the other side of the radiator! What are those?!
