Default Humiliated by an Audi sales yesterday!

The sales at the Audi dealer left me a messaged yesterday saying that the A4 I didn't buy from them (I was offering $1000 over invoice but they wouldn't sell it) was sold just 2 hours after I left the dealership, and they sold it at sticker price. What the XXXX??? What was that supposed to mean? That I was an idiot for not buying the car from them? I really doubt if anyone is stupid enough to pay full sticker price for an A4 (may be yes for the S4), may be a rich kid from USC (the dealer is close to the school)? I hope I'll meet a better sales when I visit the Beverly Hills Audi this weekend!
WayneRx

Default Somehow I wouldn't expect the very best deal at an Audi dealer in Beverly Hills.

Of course, I could be wrong about that, but it seems to me that if you're shopping in a highly affluent area, where many customers have money to burn and the dealer has no trouble moving inventory without heavy discounting, you can't expect a $1K over invoice kind of deal. I just assuming that the dealer in Beverly Hills meets this description, but what I'm saying would be true anywhere there's a relatively high concentration of wealth.
Rick

Sorry all. Just a wandering finger on the keyboard. Hope you have better luck this weekend. It's probably this kind of thing that will really help the on-line services such as CarOrder, Greenlight, and CarsDirect to prosper. Perhaps you should check them out. My experience with CarOrder was just fine.

That's what I expected when I went to BH Audi... I figured that I would leave there frustrated and empty handed. Instead, I wound up with the car I wanted at about $1200 invoice (including the stupid advertising fee). Timing is everything...

Default If you don't mind driving up to Santa Barbara...

Go to Cutter Motors. I doubt they bite your $1000 over, but I only did a few hundred over that on my deal. Make sure you tell them you're an Audiworld reader, and that you saw the "internet special pricing" ad banner they have here. Talk to the general sales manager, Jon Shafer if you can he's great! Or ask for Michael Finbow, he's my favorite salesperson. Rusnak in Thousand Oaks also has a TON of 2000's on the lot, they may be willing to do a decent deal.

One more thing, after you buy elsewhere drive back to that dealer, park right in front of the showroom with your other dealers plates on the car and go in and explain the the nice little salesman (or better yet, his boss) that you appreciated his "follow-up" call, and that you found the deal you wanted elsewhere and that you NEVER, EVER will bring your car to their piece of s*** dealer for your regular service (they charge Audi for this, and make a decent amount of $ off it).

Default Re: Call the owner and yell and scream

Contact the owner and let him know how pissed off you are and that you are letting all your friends on this BBS know about their rude treatment. Word about bad dealers spreads fast.

Maybe that will get his attention....maybe it won't. He should be a businessman and care about ticking off customers......if he sells all the cars he can then he may not care.

Best of luck in your search.
