Hi all,

Please help me, i need help desparately. I am so sick of this humming noise of my 98 2.8Q.

For some reason, recently, my car started to develop this annoying deep humming noise. I can hear it VERY loudly inside the car. This "humming" would typically begin about 5 min after engine start; gradually become louder, and last about 15 min, then it would stop completely.

Within this 15 min of "humming", even if i shut off the engine, this humming noise will be on (reduced a little).

Yesterday, i tried to locate the noise source under the hood. It "sounds" like fan noise coming from the passenger side of the engine.

my car is running fine other than this humming noise.. the only issue is the water(coolant) temperature sensor.. it has been not very accurate for a while, so, i didnt think it was the cause.

any idea on what might be the the problem source? how to fix it?

Did you ever figure out what the problem was? My wife's 2001 2.8L 30V started recently making a buzzing or electric humming sound once the engine was shut off.

The electric fans aren't moving and it appears to be coming somewhere between the airbox and the left side of the motor.

Anyone have any ideas?
