Default Hydraulic Dampener for the TBelt Tensioner roller..if pin is pulled? Is it done for? 1.8t ATW

Can I reuse it? i.e. pull it off, compress the hydraulic, put pin in, reapply as needed?

i recently did mine and noticed they will recompress quite easily if you do it really really slowly

Depending on how heavy your upper body is, you can push it down on solid ground

Default I wouldnt reuse it at it seems that the tensioner seems to fail before everything else

so compressing the tensioner again would be just more prone to premature failure in my eyes.

Default Most automotive tensioners can be recompressed if it's done slowly....

I've done it on Subaru engines many times. If you do it too fast you build up too much internal pressure and the seal fails.

Default Take it to Home Depot and 'test' one of their big *** vice's. Put the pin back in. Say you'll

think about it.
