Default Re: Uprgade questions

I got the brackets from (Liam in Montreal) he is a member of this forum. e-mail him to see if he has any left. They will look like this...

You can also get the brackets from evoms.com.

for the brake lines, I used the Boxster hard lines with 70s/early80s 911 SS lines (993-355-139-00). The hard lines came with my calipers. I got the 911 lines from SilverA4Fun. PM him and he can get you info where you can get them.

If they didn't, you can get the hard lines at www.pelicanparts.com part no.s OEM-99635558106 and OEM-99635558406. They are circled in red below.

The stock master cylinder should be fine. Lots of people have done this upgrade with no issues that i've read or heard about. Everything bolts right in with the parts i've mentioned.

Default Liam's bracket's are made for 986 (Boxster) calipers and A8 rotors

about the bolts, the OEM Porsche caliper bolts will not fit Liam's brackets. I used M12-1.25x70. Liam had suggested the 60mm length but I tried the 70mm and they fit so I used those. (the Porsche ones are 70mm also). You can get them at www.mcmaster.com part no. 96144A313.

This may help

Default HPS when cold is the same as OEM

But once they're warmed up a bit, they are much better than OEM.

I just installed this exact setup on my car and love it!

Did you paint your calipers?

Default boxster caliper is bigger, monoblock, and manufatured by brembo. Pretty sure it's 4 piston also.

my guess is you'll notice a little more gripping force and pedal feedback from these.

Wow, thanks for the very informative response!!
So, are you running A8 rotors or S4 rotors?
Boxster calipers or Boxster S calipers?
What is the minumum wheel size for either setup?

Does the pedal feel slightly more mushy or give a feeling that you have to go down a little further before you feel the braking resistance?

I kind of want to try my hand at fabricating some custom brackets... I wonder if I could get the dimensions for the bracket so I could draw it up in CAD and go from there.
What are the brackets made from... Alum.?

Bosxter calipers with A8 rotors and the pedal feel is much firmer than stock. The brackets are aluminum and sorry I don't have the exact dimensions.

Check this
