Default I am an idiot for missing on the control arm recall. That is all :-(

Anyway, how can they just end a recall? Is it a common practice? I guess on some level it makes sense, since they figure that every 98 model has to have over 100k by now, and it's normal wear and tear.

Because it's not a 'recall', it's a service campaign.

Default Probably because it was in the terms of their settlement, AoA doesn't do things out of

kindness. They do these things because they got sued: Oil spec due to sludge, timing belt inspections, lower A-arm inspections, etc. Interestingly enough, items that commonly fail tend to get reclassified to "wear and tear" items on their CPO warranty list, primary example being TREs.
